Your Hobie kayak, rigged for fishing, is waiting for you at the launch point. Joël delivers it, gives you the briefing, then leaves you to fish on your own.

From booking to first bite

  1. Choose your slot.

    Early morning (7:00 to 14:00) or afternoon (15:00 to 18:00), your kayak and your options. The calendar only shows what is available.

  2. Secure it by bank transfer.

    A 30% deposit confirms the booking. You pay the balance on the day, by bank transfer or in cash.

  3. Meet Joël at the spot.

    He delivers the kayak, gives the briefing and checks its condition with you. The security deposit is a Swikly card imprint.

  4. Go fishing.

    At the end of the slot, Joël collects the kayak from the same place. You have nothing to load onto your car.

Deposit, balance and security deposit

A 30% deposit by bank transfer secures the slot. You pay the balance on the day, by bank transfer or in cash.

A security deposit of €3,000 per kayak is required, by Swikly card imprint. Nothing is charged if the kayak comes back in good condition.

Joël delivers to selected launch points, no more than an hour’s drive from central Var: the Mediterranean coast and the Lower Verdon Gorges.

Each date has its spot of the day, shown in the calendar. Would you prefer another spot from the list? Ask for it when you book, and Joël will reply when he confirms.

Weather and safety

Marine forecasts become reliable the day before. Joël publishes his indicator here:

  • green, good to go;
  • orange, you stay in a smaller area close to shelter;
  • red, the trip is postponed.

How far can you go?

You can go up to 2 nautical miles from a shelter.

A word from Joël

I have been kayak fishing for [À COMPLÉTER : nombre d’années] on the Var coast and in the Verdon.

I have led outdoor sports activities, and I have run several small businesses and a non-profit association.

Around here, all I could find were beach kayaks with paddles or motorboats at sky-high prices. So I started French Riviera Kayak Fishing.

I like everything to be ready and well organised: that is what you will find at the spot.

FAQ

Do I need a licence?

No, you don’t need a boating licence for a pedal kayak.

For freshwater fishing in the Verdon, a fishing permit is required [À VÉRIFIER]. At sea: [À VÉRIFIER : déclaration éventuelle des captures, tailles minimales].

I have never used a pedal kayak.

The kayaks are very stable, and the briefing explains everything before you set off.

What happens if it’s windy?

Joël decides the day before. If the trip is cancelled because of the weather, you change the date or he refunds your deposit.
